Our market is shifting, but let’s put those changing numbers into context.
There’s no doubt that we’re seeing a shift in the housing market. It’s all over the news, but while existing home sales are down, I wanted to put those numbers in context for you today.
Let’s take a look at existing home sales going all the way back to 2017. A couple of things stand out. First, 2021 was an incredible year for the housing market. We hit a 15-year high in existing home sales. Second, the forecast for this year shows that home sales are returning to pre-pandemic levels.
The media talks about how the market is crashing when, in fact, our market is just returning to where it was before COVID, and those were strong years for real estate.
